One of the most important contributions from Alaris Linwave is its range of Block Up Converters (BUCs).

A BUC converts lower-frequency modulated signals generated by the aircraft's communication equipment into higher-frequency Ku-band or Ka-band signals suitable for transmission to a satellite.
